Memorial Day Weekend

Over Memorial Day Weekend, Alex and I traveled to Oregon to visit his family and to see our beautiful, new nephew be blessed in the church. It was a wonderful experience and we are both so happy that we were able a part of this special experience. Wyatt is a beautiful baby and it was so fun getting to know him and his sweet little personality. He truly is a blessing from above and Alex and I can't wait for the day when we decide to have children. We hope that won't be for a few years, but I guess you never know the surprises life can throw at you.

While I have spent time with Alex's family, I still have so much to learn about them. I really did have such a good time getting to know his parents a little bit better, his brother and sister- in- law better, and his extended family as well. They are all so nice and welcoming and I love hanging out with all of them. I already feel at home when I am with them, which is nice. Not to mention, Oregon is absolutely lovely in the summers, and The Nicholson property is refreshing and beautiful. I could stare out at their green grass and luscious forest backdrop all day long.

The new baby!! Isn't he sweet?

We had a family baby shower for Jen--it was really fun and Terry did a great job planning everything! :)

We went to a restaurant called The Ram's Head at Timberline Lodge!
I got the Chili in a bread bowl. Delicious.

We also went to another restaurant called Calamity Jane's...

...where you can write your name on a dollar bill and put it on the ceiling!!

Last but not least, we went up to explore the Piddock Mansion in Portland. Boy, is that a beautiful house! Wish we lived there! :)

Hope everyone else had a great Memorial Day Weekend!! We are spoiled rotten! xoxo

San Diego Fun.

Last week, I went to San Diego to visit my family {favorite family}. We did lots of fun things and I enjoyed every minute I was there--wished it was longer because I miss 'em already! Now, for those of you who know me, you know that I love puppies. Like obsessed. There is one pet store in San Diego that has tons of puppies, kittens, and bunnies and it is one of my favorite places to visit. Ever. Whenever I am visiting San Diego, my mom always takes me to visit the puppies {she likes them just as much as I do...we are alike in a lot of way and that's just one of them.} The puppies--all different breeds--are all so cute! I can hardly stand it. Here are a couple we got out and played with the first time {we went twice in the five days I was there!! haha} The first is a Miniature Schnauzer and the second is an Italian Greayhound.

I'm so sad we didn't get any pictures as a family on Mother's Day because we were all together and that probably won't happen for a while. Reed was home, visiting from UCLA also, and it was just fabulous. If only Alex could have been there.

On Mother's Day, we had a little fire pit action going on, complete with hotdogs, s'mores and great friends. We had the Robinson family over, as well as the Bradley and Ashcraft families {minus Rachel's husband, sadly}. It was a blast!

We could not get Felicity to smile...not even a little.

{This picture was too good not to post...}

The rest of my trip was awesome as well, but unfortunately I don't have any pictures to document. That's it for now!! xoxo

My Best Friend's Wedding

This past weekend I traveled down to Newport, California to participate in my good friend Brooke Clason's wedding. It was absolutely beautiful and I am beyond happy for her and her new husband, Curren. Not only are they sealed for time and all eternity to each other, but Alex and I get a new married couple to hang out with. Double win!

This weekend was not only a celebration of their marriage but of friendship--I got to hang out with a lot of my friends that I haven't gotten to hang out with recently and it was so much fun! We hung out at the pool, dressed up and did each other's hair, ate Chipotle, told funny stories, and gave Brooke dirty/hilarious gifts the night before our wedding! It was a lovely sealing and a beautiful luncheon. Britt and I even got to perform Brooke and Curren's song, "Beautiful Love." It was a great way to spend the weekend and now I am in California visiting my family. If only Alex was here enjoying the sun with me, it would be a perfect weekend. Gotta love summer!
