Poolside

Being summer time and all, Alex and I have been hanging out at the Seven Peaks water park/our pool and it has been just fantastic. I love the water and I love the sun...I am a true Hawaii girl and I always will be. {I can't even wait to move back there someday...someday.} I haven't taken any pictures at Seven Peaks because I don't like taking my camera there and then leaving it on my towel for someone to steal, but I have managed to snap a few here in our backyard.

I love summer.

Welcome to Provo

My brother, Reed, who started playing soccer at UCLA this year came to Utah last weekend and it was so good to see him! This summer, he is playing on a PDL team (similar to minor league soccer, I think) and they came to play BYU and another team from Ogden. Unfortunately, they lost both their games, but in all fairness, their team was put together the week prior to the game and so a lot of the players were just meeting each other and seeing how each other plays for the first time.

This was the first time Reed had been to Utah ever, so we wanted to take him and show him around Provo a little bit. By the time the game was over, most things were closed and he only had an hour or two before he had to be home to his hotel, so a couple of our friends {Brooke and Curren... who just got married last month} accompanied us to Sammy's, the pieshake place in downtown Provo. It was so fun and I am so glad that Reed and I got to hang out a little bit, even if it was just for an hour or so.

Baby Showers

Last week, I went to a darling Baby Shower for a friend in the ward. She is having a baby girl next month and I am just so excited for her...and the tutus, and bows, and tights, and pink galore!! I went into Baby Gap for the first time {since I don't ever really have a need to} and just about died. The dresses, the sandals, the denim shirts, the bikinis!! Oh, I could go on and on...I just love little girl stuff and really, truly hope that I will someday have a baby girl to dress.

Anyway, another friend in the ward threw the shower and it was just perfect. The decorations were creative beyond belief, the treats were delicious, and I loved every minute of the gift opening. She got the cutest handmade quilt/blanket, among tons of diapers, toys, books, and cute clothes. I love baby showers.

Sunday Morning Breakfast

Today, Alex and I decided to make delicious blueberry and banana pancakes, after I got the idea from a neighbor restaurant called "Marley's" at The Riverwoods. I even made homemade Caramel Buttermilk Syrup...a recipe I found on Pinterest. It was more than delicious :)

Jealous yet? Have a Happy Father's Day!!

Noah the Incredible

I haven't done a youtube post in a while, but this guy is seriously incredible! I don't hand out musical compliments all too often, but this is a noteworthy performance. I. love. him. I would buy his stuff tomorrow if I could. I mean, if he can take a song with lyrics as crappy as ...sexy and I know it... and spin it into soulful blend of guitar creativity and vocal mastery, then he's gotta be talented, right? Take a listen.

Applications Decide Our Fate

Today is the day.
Today, our whole life could be decided with the click of a button.
Today, Alex applies to Medical School.

It has been a long time coming, but Alex is applying to medical school and going to try and become a doctor. What kind of doctor? He's not sure yet, but he thinks he will most likely decide during rotations and is hoping to specialize in something. {I promise this is not why I married him! haha}

He has worked hard. He has worked long. He has tried his best. Now here's to countless prayers, endless hoping, a good attitude, and an open mind. I wish you luck Mr. Alex Nicholson, and love you so very much! You deserve this!
